Welcome to the ORCAS.pt Community!
Our Mission:
The ORCAS.pt community is dedicated to:
Sharing information about orca activity and sailing safety.
Finding solutions to minimize conflicts between orcas and sailboats.
Studying and discussing ways to reduce the risk and damage from orca incidents.
Our Groups:
The community consists of six groups, each with specific objectives and rules:
ORCAS@PORTUGAL&SPAIN: Broadcasts important information to the group.
ORCAS LOCATIONS: Shares information on orca sightings, locations, etc.
PASSAGE INFORMATION: Shares details about passages, port departures, arrivals, and other relevant events.
ORCAS DISCUSSIONS: Facilitates brainstorming discussions about orca behavior, solutions, and experiences.
FEEDBACK ORCINUS: Provides support and troubleshooting for the ORCINUS app development team.
SAILING REGIONS (e.g., SPAIN & PORTUGAL, MED, MOROCCO, MADEIRA & CANARY ISLANDS): Shares and discusses information about sailing in specific destinations.
Community Guidelines:
To foster a respectful, productive, and inclusive environment, we kindly ask all members to adhere to the following guidelines:
Positive and Constructive Discussions: Focus on practical and technical discussions related to orcas. Share factual information, personal experiences related to orcas, and propose solutions. Avoid speculation, unconfirmed information, or negativity.
No Self-Promotion, Spam, or Hate Speech: Refrain from promoting yourself, spamming, or using hateful, discriminatory, or offensive language.
Stay on Topic: Avoid discussions about politics, economics, religion, or other controversial subjects unrelated to orcas and safe sailing.
Be Respectful: Maintain a civil and respectful tone. Be respectful of differing opinions, even if you disagree. Avoid personal attacks, insults, or name-calling. Constructive criticism is welcome, but it should be delivered respectfully.
Respect Privacy: Don't share information from our Telegram groups in external groups or platforms without authorization. Our conversations are private.
Limit Multimedia: Avoid sharing videos from external platforms and unrelated links unless they are directly relevant to the current discussion and have been pre-approved by a moderator.
Inclusivity: We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members, regardless of their background, experience, or beliefs. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind.
Enforcement:
Violations of these guidelines may result in warnings, temporary bans, or permanent bans from the ORCAS.pt community. The moderators are responsible for enforcing these rules.
